Lieutenant Commander John Northcott RD RNR

John Northcott joined the RNR in 1988 as a Sub Lieutenant and served in the former HMS Graham until 1992 when he transferred to HMS Calliope in Newcastle.

In 1994, he transferred to the new RNR Logistics branch and was appointed as the Specialist Training Officer within the Division. He was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 1997.

Since 1999 he has held a number of senior national roles within the Logistics Branch and commanded a Forward Logistics Site in Oman during 2001. Mobilised in January 2003 he entered the Royal Navy, serving as the Commander of the Forward Logistics Site in Kuwait and the North Arabian Gulf before relocating to Bahrain to manage the return of stores to the UK. He was demobilised in June 2003.

In 2006, he was appointed as the First Lieutenant of Ceres Division, he was subsequently appointed as the Officer in Command of Ceres Division in March 2007.  John is now no longer the Officer in Charge and has taken a National role within the Logistics Branch.

Educated in Bristol, Plymouth and Glasgow, he holds an honors degree in Accountancy from Glasgow Caledonian University and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants. He works as a project manager within the banking sector.

He is married with two children and when possible, he enjoys working out in the gym and walking.
