How did you hear about the RNR?
I was at college when one of my friends pointed out that as I was no longer part of the Sea Cadets for a time then I might was to join the RNR. I attended the presentation in Batley and I never left.
Hobbies:
I enjoy powerboating, sailing and swimming even though people think I am scared of fitness. I also enjoy lots of various aspects of computing such as web design and also building computers.
Why did you join the RNR?
I have been interested in the Navy since I joined the Sea Cadets. I thought that it would be an ideal opportunity for me to get an insight into the Navy and decided if I would like to do this full time. Being a student it has complimented my academic career by allowing me to have an escape from my studies and do something very different.
RNR Goals and ambitions:
I would like to become an officer in the RNR and progress through the officer ranks.
Best thing about the RNR?
The best thing about the RNR is the people you meet and get to work with and the fact that it is so different from what other people are doing in their lives. I enjoy the getting away on weekends and also the social aspect of the RNR. However, the thing I enjoy the most is learning how technology is being used to defend the country. It is all very interesting.
